Chimera 2025 conference will be held in San Sebastian, in person

Dear Colleagues,

Welcome to the Chimera 2025 conference website! The Chimera international conference will be held in San Sebastian (Gipuzkoa), Spain, from September 29 to October 2, 2025.

The conference scope is emergent phenomena related to the chimera quasiparticles (hybrid quasiparticles) in various kinds of materials and metamaterials. The conference topics include magnetic, optic, and transport phenomena in various magnets involving skyrmions, magnons, phonons and so on, CISS (chirality induced spin selectivity) phenomena in chiral molecules and related phenomena, and emergent electromagnetic phenomena in metamaterials.

Researchers in the fields of magnetism, spintronics, metamaterials, and chiral molecules will meet at this conference to open together a new frontier of science of the chimera quasiparticles in a cross-disciplinary manner. Interdisciplinary contributions are welcome.

The conference is supported by Grant-in-Aid for Transformative Research Areas “Chimera Quasiparticles for Novel Condensed-Matter Science” (FY2024-2028, PI is Prof. Shuichi Murakami, Tokyo Institute of Technology)

The conference is conducted in collaboration with the International Institute for Sustainability with Knotted Chiral Meta Matter (WPI-SKCM 2 , Hiroshima University, Japan, Director Prof. Ivan Smalyukh).

Expressing solidarity with the Ukrainian people in repelling the military attack of the Russian Federation, supported by Belarus, and not accepting the inhumane aggressive policy of the Russian state, the organizers of Chimera2025 decided to exclude people affiliated with the Russian Federation or Belarus from the conference committees and participants. The ban is based on people's affiliation with Russian and Belarusian scientific and educational organizations, but by no means on their nationality.
